Honaker, St. Paul, Tazewell, among Virginia communities to receive Virginia Main Street grants
Some Southwest Virginia communities are receiving funding through Virginia Main Street grants to help accelerate economic revitalization as part of the state’s COVID-19 economic recovery strategy.
Among the 18 communities receiving funding statewide includes St. Paul, Honaker, and Tazewell. The grants are divided into two categories, including Downtown Investment Grants, which can be used for design and economic vitality projects in historic downtown neighborhoods, while Commercial District Grants can be used for things like downtown revitalization, streetscape improvements, and town murals.
St. Paul is receiving $25,000 in funding, while Honaker and Tazewell will receive $7,000. The full news release can be found here.
