BVPS partners with SWVA Community Health Systems to deploy rapid testing as classes start in-person tomorrow
Bristol, VA Public Schools is partnering with Southwest VA Community Health Systems to provide voluntary rapid testing as the system prepares to start the academic year with in-person learning.
Superintendent Dr. Keith Perrigan announced Tuesday that the system will provide the rapid testing option as a means of early detection of the virus to try and minimize any substantial spread should a student or staff member test positive. Full details are being finalized about the collaborative effort, and Dr. Perrigan added the tests will be administered at either Van Pelt Elementary or a Southwest VA Community Health Systems’ office.
The district starts classes Thursday.
