Virginia Governor Announces Plan To Save Colleges And Universities Millions Of Dollars

A plan to save Virginia public colleges and universities more than 300 million dollars is announced Tuesday by Governor Ralph Northam. Northam says a higher education refinancing plan will save the higher education system in the Commonwealth more than 300 dollars over the next two years. By refinancing, millions of dollars will be saved, allowing colleges and universities to make critical investments, and to meet the needs of Virginia students. So far, Virginia has successfully avoided cuts to higher education during the COVID-19 pandemic.
