Marion, Va offering grants to small businesses affected by COVID-19
Marion, Va businesses struggling financially due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic will soon be eligible for financial relief.
The Town of Marion is partnering with Smyth County and the CARES Act to offer $250,000 in grant funds, with around 100 businesses able to receive up to $2,500 to assist in losses and expenses related to the pandemic. Those eligible are allowed to start applying for grants on Friday Oct. 2, with the deadline being either Nov. 16 or if funds run out beforehand.
A short application detailing the pandemic’s effects on the business, the businesses plan for using grant funds, total number of employees, and other business and contact information, in addition to certifying that they have not received any other CARES Act funding.
The application must be submitted electronically to kheath@marionva.org.
