Some Tazewell County schools to go to virtual learning following confirmed COVID cases
Several schools in the Tazewell County area are switching to online instruction following positive tests for COVID among students and staff.
A statement from Superintendent of Schools Christopher Stacy said remote learning will remain in effect for two weeks in the Bluefield feeder system after a student was confirmed with the virus. An employee in the Tazewell system also tested positive.
Students were being equipped with computers for the virtual change while meals will be provided to every student free of charge. Stacy noted that several students were also being placed in quarantine following contact tracing by county health officials.
