Bristol Virginia Police Department specialist Nicole Slagle dies unexpectedly

The Bristol Virginia Police Department is mourning the loss of a 14-year veteran.

The agency announced Wednesday that Crime Prevention Specialist Nicole Slagle died unexpectedly on Tuesday evening.

Slagle will be remembered in her work with children during outreach events like trunk-or-treat as well as promoting police programs and assistance at National Night Out and Neighborhood Watch.

City Councilman Neal Osborne called Slagle a valued member of the community and city family.
