Man accused of killing mother last April in Carter County set for trial in March 2021

A man accused of killing his mother last April in Carter County who also attempted to flea the country is set to go trial next March.

John Christopher Ralph appeared in court Tuesday and was given a trial date of March 2-4, with jury selection scheduled for the day before. Ralph allegedly killed his mother, Edith Betty Ralph, and was later arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta.

Ralph remains jailed on a $1 million bond.
