Report: Church Hill man fired shots at neighbors to ‘scare them’
A Church Hill, Tennessee man is accused of firing shots from his home at two individuals who had been mowing on neighboring property.
A report from the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office says Samuel Robert Horne is charged with two counts of reckless endangerment by firearm following an incident on Payne Ridge Road.
Horne said he had previous run-ins with the victims who he instructed to keep off his property. The victims told deputies that Horne, 51, stared at them then went back inside his home, came out with the rifle, and fired shots as his wife tried to take the rifle away.
Horne said afterward that he was trying to scare the men and that he suffers from PTSD from his service in the Armed Forces, the report said.
