UPDATE: Murder case of Kingsport native and wife goes to jury

A jury is being prepared for deliberations in an East Tennessee case that involved the murder of a Kingsport native and his wife.

That panel has just heard days of gruesome details from prosecutors in the 2016 death and dismemberment of Joel Guy, Sr. and wife Lisa at their Knox County home.

Joel Guy, Jr. is accused of stabbing his parents dozens of times then planning to dissolve their remains in chemicals. Family members testified that the couple was planning to retire from their jobs and move back to a family farm in Hawkins County. They had also planned on cutting off their son, a medical student at LSU, financially.
