UPDATE: Titans Steelers match-up in Nashville postponed by NFL due to additional COVID cases
The National Football League announced Thursday that Sunday’s Steelers Titans game in Nashville is being postponed until later in the season.
An additional case of COVID-19 among players and support staff was discovered Wednesday and led to the league moving the game which was the home opener for the Titans.
Four players and five workers had tested positive earlier in the week and the NFL was considering a brief window of testing and treatment so the game could be played either Monday or Tuesday.
The NFL has procedures in place to penalize players if virus protocols are broken but head coach Mike Vrabal said no rules were violated in this instance.
