More Than Five Thousand COVID-19 Cases Reported On Virginia College Campuses
It’s been a little over a month now since colleges in Virginia opened their campuses after being closed due to COVID-19 and now there are more than five thousand cases of the disease on Commonwealth college campuses. Three schools, James Madison University, Virginia Tech, and the University of Virginia are reporting more than three thousand of those cases combined. James Madison has passed 15 hundred cases and still plans to reopen its campus Monday following a month long shutdown. However, only sixty of those cases are active. Virginia Tech recorded its one thousandth case and UVA is nearing 800 COVID-19 cases. It took just over a month for the number of cases to jump from 500 to five thousand.
