A jury in Knox County court found Joel Guy, Jr., guilty on seven felony counts Friday morning in the death and dismemberment of his parents Lisa and Joel Guy, Sr.
The panel took three hours of deliberations to find their verdict against Guy who police said killed his parents on Thanksgiving weekend 2016 because they were planning to stop supporting him financially after several years of medical school at LSU where he was studying to become a plastic surgeon.
The Guys were planning to move back to a family farm in Hawkins County before their son stabbed them dozens of times then cut up their bodies in a plan that included dissolving their remains in chemicals.
