‘Bristol Backs the Blue’ rally cancelled
A rally for police officers scheduled for this weekend that was organized by a local GOP group has been canceled.
The Bristol Virginia Republican Committee announced Thursday their cancellation plans for an afternoon gathering at the State Street sign citing a potential for violence from outside organizations who had indicated a plan to counter-protest.
A Facebook counter showed more than 100 people had confirmed their plans to attend the Bristol Backs the Blue event.
