More Than 14 Thousand Defendants Charged With Firearms Related Crimes In Virginia…79 In This Region
The United States Attorneys Office for the Western District of Virginia, which includes southwest Virginia announces Tuesday more than 14 thousand defendants, including 79 in this region have been charged with firearms-related crimes so far this fiscal year. Under federal law, it is illegal to possess a firearm if you fall into nine prohibited categories including being a felon. One of those felons charged is John Webb, who was sentenced to 42 months in prison after being convicted of selling the stolen firearms at a Wytheville Virginia pawnshop.
