Hundreds Of Thousands Of ARC Funding Headed To Southwest Virginia
Several localities in Southwest Virginia are sharing more than 800 thousand dollars in Appalachian Regional Commission funding for addressing substance use disorders, improving broadband connectivity, strengthening rural counties and improving local infrastructure. St. Mary’s Health Wagon will use 793 thousand dollars to establish a substance use disorder treatment program. In addition, another 50 thousand dollars will go to LENOWISCO for development of a fiber network in parts of southwest Virginia. And a Rural Leaders Institute for Southwest Virginia will be established with nearly 40 thousand dollars for the Center for Rural Development.
