Known Drug Dealer Off Streets After Traffic Stop

A known distributor of illegal drugs in this area is off the streets after being arrested during a traffic stop in Sullivan County. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and the TBI say 36 year old Heather Thompson of Erwin, Tennessee was pulled over as a result of an ongoing investigation. Following a K-9 search of Thompson’s vehicle, deputies recovered a total of 29 grams of heroin worth more than eight thousand dollars. Investigators also seized just under seven thousand dollars in cash. Thompson is charged with Possession of schedule I drugs with intent to sale or deliver and maintaining a dwelling where a controlled substance is stored or kept. Thompson remains in the Sullivan County Detention Center where she is being held without bond.
