Meeting scheduled for Oct. 26 to determine possibility of holding Erwin Christmas Parade

Unicoi County officials are working on a plan to try and hold its annual Erwin Christmas parade in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The county’s chamber of commerce posted on Facebook that they have been in communication with local officials since Aug to develop a plan and establish health protocols based on state and local guidelines to safely hold the parade while minimizing risk of potential coronavirus exposure.

The chamber is holding a meeting with local officials on Oct. 26 and will announce details from that meeting upon its conclusion.
