Miss America 1993 and Big Stone Gap, Va native dies at 49
A Big Stone Gap, Va woman who went on to become Miss America in the early 1990s has passed away.
Organizers of the Miss America team posted the news of the death of Leanza Cornett Wednesday night on social media.
Cornett reportedly suffered a brain injury earlier this month before her passing on Wednesday. She was crowned Miss America as Miss Florida in 1993.
She was 49 years old.
