Report from Appalachian State: 12 consecutive days of 30 or less cases of COVID
Chancellor Sheri Everts reports declining COVID cases on the Appalachian State campus and among students.
In her weekly report, Everts said the school in Boone had 12 consecutive days of 30 or fewer cases of the virus for the first time since the start of the fall semester.
App State has also seen several clusters of cases marked as inactive including several Greek houses and within the Mountaineers football program.
The decline comes weeks after sweeping shutdowns and revisions on campus for athletics and student life as COVID cases spiked. The moves were also made following the virus-related death of 21-year-old student Chad Dorrill in September.
