Southwest Virginia County Leads Way In Gains For 2020 Election Turnout
Virginia Voter participation saw its largest gains this election cycle in rural areas, led by Southwest Virginia’s Buchanan County with nearly a 12 percent increase in voter turnout from the 2016 elections. Bristol City, Wise, Russell, Tazewell, Smyth and Bland Counties also saw significant increases in gains for voter turnout for the 2020 elections.
