Tazewell County, West Virginia Governor Settle Lawsuits…Tazewell To Get Additional ATV Trails
Tazewell County, Virginia has settled lawsuits with West Virginia Governor Jim Justice’s coal companies that will result in additional ATV trails in Tazewell County. As part of the settlement, the county will get access to more than 500 acres of land Justice owns in the county and will then develop ATV trails across the property. Justice will also pay the county nearly three hundred thousand dollars that will cover all back taxes as well as penalties and interest on real estate and personal property. Justice must also pay 58 thousand dollars a year until the taxes, penalties and interest on his mineral holdings in the county are brought current. The lawsuits involved Justice’s Low Seam Mining and Black River Coal Companies.
