Virginia State Police to increase traffic enforcement over Thanksgiving holiday weekend
Virginia State Police will be increasing traffic enforcement for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend as part of Operation C.A.R.E.
Law enforcement across the state will be looking to make sure motorists are following key traffic laws while traveling, including wearing a seatbelt, driving the speed limit, and not driving distracted like being on a cell phone. State police say last year they issued over 5,000 speeding citations, nearly 500 seatbelt violations, and arrested 83 drivers for driving under the influence.
This year’s Operation C.A.R.E ends at midnight Nov. 29.
