Tenn Dept. of Human Services: Applications for grant money for licensed childcare providers now being accepted

Licensed childcare providers in Tennessee are being encouraged to apply for grant money as a grant program is set to issue its second round of funding.

Last fall, the Tennessee Dept. of Human Services with the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee created the Support and Enhancement grant which distributed up to $4,000 and in some distressed counties, $5,000 to strengthen early childhood education for some 1,200 licensed providers.

The funding will work to increase capacity at the licensed location and enhance as well as add equipment including supplies and appliances among other things. Providers interested in the grant money have until Sept. 1, 2021 to apply. More information about the program is available here.
