FBI searching for “Too Tall Bandit” accused of robbing 16 banks in 11 years including some in East TN
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and capturing a serial bank robber accused of robbing 16 banks, including some in East TN.
The agency’s offices in Knoxville and Charlotte have nicknamed the unidentified individual, the “Too Tall Bandit.” The man is described as a white man over six feet tall weighing over 200 pounds and walks with a limp that affects his right leg. The Too Tall Bandit has allegedly robbed banks as close as Jefferson City and Knoxville, as well as other robberies in North and South Carolina over the last 11 years, including two in North Carolina just last month.

The FBI says he is always heavily disguised with a mask, coat, gloves and armed with a black handgun in each robbery. A $15,000 reward is being offered in identifying the suspect, and those who have information on the case should call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
