Tennessee’s Lamar Alexander Bids Farewell To Congress
He began his political career by walking across the State of Tennessee in a Plaid Shirt and on Wednesday retiring United States Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee said farewell to his fellow lawmakers in Congress. Senator Alexnder used his wit and humor throughout his remarks. Alexander served eighteen years in the Senate and left his mark on numerous pieces of legislation including the recently passed Great American Outdoors Act, which has been deemed the most important conservation legislation in the past 50 years.
