UPDATE: Bulls Gap man arrested in Lynn Garden string of felony crimes, one man dead from Monday incidents
A Bulls Gap man is facing charges related to several felony crimes in Kingsport on Monday, one of which has left a man dead.
An update from Kingsport Police says they have arrested Michael Shelton, 41, who is accused of a number of incidents committed Monday morning in the Lynn Garden community. Authorities say Shelton committed a home-invasion at one residence, and allegedly shot and killed Gary McMeans, 60, of Kingsport, at a separate incident.
Initial charges Shelton faces includes aggravated robbery, especially aggravated kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, with additional charges pending.
He is being held on a $1 million bond in the Kingsport City Jail, and the investigation into the incidents is continuing.
