TDH Data: 1 in 4 residents in three NETN counties are testing positive for COVID-19 over the last week
Three of seven Northeast TN counties have average COVID-19 positivity rates above 25% over the last seven days.
Data from the department of health reports as of Tuesday, Carter, Sullivan, and Washington counties are seeing at least 1 in 4 people tested for COVID receive positive test results, with Washington County having the highest percent positive rate at 27%. Hawkins County is seeing the lowest positivity rate over the last seven days at 17.2%.
Across our seven local counties, an average of 202 coronavirus tests are being administered daily over the last week. Below are positivity and testing averages by county as of December 8:
*Carter- 26.4% positive rate over last 7 days- average of 138 tests administered per day
*Greene- 19.4% positive rate over last 7 days- average of 212 tests administered per day
*Hawkins- 17.2% positive rate over last 7 days- average of 178 tests administered per day
*Johnson- 17.7% positive rate over last 7 days- average of 67 tests administered per day
*Sullivan- 25.8% positive rate over last 7 days- average of 409 tests administered per day
*Unicoi- 24.6% positive rate over last 7 days- average of 63 tests administered per day
*Washington- 27% positive rate over last 7 days- average of 349 tests administered per day
