Upper East TN HDA: Three counties awarded federal funding for emergency food and shelter programs

Three Northeast TN counties are receiving federal funding to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in their respective localities.

The Upper East TN Human Development Agency says those counties are Hawkins, Johnson, and Unicoi County, who was awarded those funds from the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA’s Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. Hawkins received $21,308, Johnson received $5,482, and Unicoi received $6,540 from the program.

These funds will be distributed by the local board to high need areas in the county.
