Report: Texas man’s illegal trafficking enterprise exposed in Wythe County, Virginia crash

A Texas man who charged illegal aliens $14,000 each for trips to states up north waived his indictment in federal court in Southwest Virginia.

Gary Donel Smith, 30, was arrested and charged in February when he crashed in Wythe County and his trafficking enterprise was exposed. Police found five individuals including a child from Ecuador and El Salvador inside Smith’s vehicle.

US immigration officials along with the Department of Homeland Security were apart of the investigation.
