UPDATE: Washington County pledges $100K to Abingdon park construction
The Washington County, Virginia Board of Supervisors have given unanimous approval to a $100,000 allocation to the town of Abingdon for a new athletic facility.
The $10 million park to be constructed near The Meadows retail area just off Interstate 81 will feature four baseball fields, a splash pad, and access to the Creeper hiking and biking trail.
Planners have estimated the construction of the park will be completed by September.
