Kingsport Pavilion loses third anchor shop with Dick’s Sporting Goods closing next month

Another major retailer has announced its departure from the Kingsport Pavilion retail area.

Dick’s Sporting Goods will be closing its Model City location on Jan. 3, according to information posted at the store entrance that has been confirmed by company officials. The message refers customers to use their Johnson City and Bristol locations for returns or any other services needed.

It marks the third anchor business to leave the Pavilion in the last three years. Old Navy and Best Buy closed their locations after moving to The Pinnacle retail area in Bristol, Tennessee.

Maurice’s and Lane Bryant also chose not to renew their lease in 2019.
