Johnson City man indicted for 2019 death of infant daughter
A Johnson City man was arrested Friday and charged in the death of his baby daughter that occurred almost two years ago.
The TBI reported that Paul Morgan Beard was indicted by a Carter County grand jury earlier this week on two counts of first-degree murder.
District Attorney Ken Baldwin requested the TBI’s assistance when 4-month-old Kenlyn Beard was brought from her Elizabethton home to a local hospital on Sept. 13, 2019 with life-threatening injuries. She died at a Knoxville children’s hospital five days later.
Investigators determined that Paul Beard, 29, inflicted the injuries to his infant. He was booked into the Carter County Jail and issued a $250,000 bond.
