Boyd Sports taking over operations for Kingsport baseball franchise
Boyd Sports has assumed the role of managing a fourth Appalachian League franchise.
The company announced Monday they are assuming operations of the Kingsport franchise and will oversee all operations of the club. Boyd Sports owns the Elizabethton, Greeneville, and Johnson City baseball franchises.
Kingsport baseball will continue to play at Hunter Wright Stadium where it has played since 1995. Staffing and other key details about the franchise will be announced at a later date.
Kingsport will start their 2021 season under the revamped wooden bat Appalachian League on June 3rd.
