City of Bristol, TN to start $8.9 million road construction project Monday
A major road construction project in Bristol, TN gets going Monday.
City crews are closing nearly a mile of East Cedar St. between King College Road and Florida Avenue as part of a nearly $9 million improvement to the area. When complete, officials say all of East Cedar St. will have two 12-foot travel lanes with five foot sidewalks on both sides of the road in addition to safety improvements at key intersections.
The closure is expected to last four months and detours will be in place at the King College Rd. and Florida Ave. turns where construction will be happening.
The city says when traveling westbound on King College Road toward East Cedar Street, drivers will be directed to continue along King College Road/East State Street toward downtown. When traveling eastbound on East Cedar Street, drivers will be directed to turn left on Florida Avenue, then follow Spruce Street to East State Street.
Officials ask that if this area is part of your daily commute, you are encouraged to find an alternate route until the construction improvements are finished.
