UPDATE: Virginia State Bar revokes attorney Kurt Pomrenke’s license

A Virginia State Bar Disciplinary board has revoked the law license of attorney Kurt Pomrenke.

The board ruled that effective Dec. 28, Pomrenke’s license was pulled due to his affidavit consenting to revocation. The board further stated that as Pomrenke tendered his consent to revocation at a time when allegations of misconduct were pending, he acknowledged that facts of allegations of misconduct against him are true. Pomrenke had practiced law in the Commonwealth since 1982.

His wife Stacey was involved in a fraud scandal while she was at BVU in 2016. She and Kurt pleaded guilty to federal charges late last year in what prosecutors say was a scheme with a law firm to shave off months of Stacey’s prison sentence by having her fake an alcohol addiction.
