TVA: Several areas at the South Holston Dam closed through Jan. 27 for maintenance and inspections

The Tennessee Valley Authority has closed portions of the South Holston Dam while crews perform maintenance and inspections.

The areas include the visitor center parking lot, north picnic area, and the top of the dam. TVA’s Dam safety team will send divers underwater to inspect the dam during the closure.

The mentioned areas that are currently closed off to the public are scheduled to reopen Jan. 28.
