Over Half Of Jobs Lost In Pandemic Now Recovered In Virginia…But Some Areas Harder Hit
Virginia has recovered over half of the jobs lost during the initial outbreak of COVID-19.But the pandemic results in job losses last year across every sector of Virginia’s economy except for three. Mining, Logging and Construction were the only segments to gain numbers in employment. While, Leisure, Education and Health Services were hardest hit by the Pandemic. More than six thousand government jobs, 35 hundred hospitality jobs and 12 hundred health services and education jobs were lost in the final month of 2020 across the Commonwealth due to the pandemic.
