Kingsport Man Arrested For Soliciting Sex From A Minor

A Kingsport man is jailed Thursday after being arrested for attempting to solicit sex from a minor female. A resident of Sullivan County reported a concern of a adult, male communicating with an under aged female. Following an investigation, Deputies with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department arrested 28 year old Christopher Michael Hurd. Authorities discovered hundreds of messages found on the juvenile female’s cell phone along with previous records of video calls to the juvenile from Hurd. Hurd believed the juvenile to be 14 years of age, although she was younger. Hurd also attempted to solicit photographs, videos and sex and drove by the victim’s home on more than one occasion. Hurd is being housed in the Sullivan County Detention Center on 150 thousand dollars bond.
