UPDATE: Trial for accused 2019 App. Trail stabbing suspect moved to July
A ten day trial has been reset for July for a man accused of stabbing a military veteran to death on a portion of the Appalachian Trail in Southwest Virginia in 2019.
James Jordan faces five federal charges including murder in the fatal attack in Wythe County that left Oklahoma native Ronald Sanchez Jr. dead and another hiker severely injured. Jordan has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The original trial date was set for Jan. 25-Feb. 5, and now the new trial date is scheduled for July 19th-July 30th in US District Court in Abingdon.
