Kingsport City Schools Returning To Face To Face Learning
Beginning Monday, February 8 all Kingsport City School students enrolled in face to face learning will return to school after operating on a hybrid schedule for the first semester. School Superintendent Dr. Chris Moorehouse says the decision was based on several large studies. One by Duke University that a conducted research on 90 thousand students. The study revealed the majority of the transmission is from teacher to teacher and student to student. The decision to return to face to face learning doesn’t mean the system is out of the woods just yet. The procedures which got the school system to this point must remain in place or history could repeat itself as in the fall, when cases spiked and school closed. One of the tools the school system is using is a Decision Making Tree for positive cases of COVID-19 and are also moving from a metric based approach to a more surgical response to the Pandemic concerning the operation of kingsport city schools.
