JCPD: Male dead from gunshot wound following disagreement, case still under investigation

A homicide investigation is underway in Johnson City after authorities say they found a male dead from a gunshot wound in an apartment on Saturday.

Police were called to an apartment on W. Locust St. where they located the deceased male. Preliminary information says the incident happened following a disagreement between the victim and an unidentified male where a handgun was produced and one shot was fired at the victim.

The identity of the victim has not been released and anyone with information on the case should call Johnson City Police Criminal Investigation Division at (423) 434-6166.
