Emergency regulations now in place for Virginia’s casino operations
The Virginia Lottery Board on Wednesday approved emergency regulations for casino operations in the Commonwealth including the Hard Rock International project based in Bristol.
Those directives will cover such items as taxes, hiring workers, and fees for licenses. The official rules for casino operation will be delivered in the coming months following approval from Governor Ralph Northam.
Bristol city officials have said the Hard Rock property could start early operations in late 2021 although Lottery Executive Director Kevin Hall said in November that a realistic start for casino gambling is likely in April of 2022.
