Suspected package store robber in Johnson City arrested

The suspect who tried to rob a Johnson City convenience store earlier this week has been apprehended.

Stephen Hensley, 24, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of attempted robbery, according to a report from the city police department.

Investigators said Hensley passed a note that demanded money to the clerk at AAA Package Store on West Market Street then ran from the business when the employee threatened to call police.

Hensley is being held on a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court on Tuesday.
