Bill To Require Virginia School Districts To Offer Virtual And In Person Learning Options
A Bill in the Virginia Senate to require each local school district in the Commonwealth to make virtual and in person learning available to all students passes Monday in an 8-0 subcommittee vote. Senate Bill 1303 is a hot topic politically in Virginia and Monday’s approval signals a way forward for reopening schools safely in Virginia. Democratic Governor Ralph Northam is rolling out Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for reopening schools by March 15. It’s doubtful the bill as it stands now will make that March 15 deadline set by Northam.
