Virginia Coming Up Short On Total Number Of Vaccines Given
The state of Virginia has a population of about eight and a half million residents, and while more than 350 thousand people have been fully vaccinated in the Commonwealth, the state is still not reaching its goal of administering 50 thousand shots per day, because of supply issues. Virginia health officials are giving out almost 34 thousand vaccines per day but the state cant reach the 50 thousand mark because supplies are not coming in fast enough, even though the Commonwealth has the infrastructure to accomplish that feat, if they could just get their hands on more vaccines. Northam also praised the state’s new centralized website that is now live and so far has pre- registered 240 thousand Virginia residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
