NEW: Walgreens, Walmart, and Kroger among national pharmacy chains partnering with Virginia to administering COVID vaccines
Three additional national pharmacy chains will start to administer COVID-19 vaccines soon in Virginia.
Updated information from the CDC shows six pharmacy chains added as partners with Virginia through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, which includes Kroger, Walgreens, and Walmart.
Initially, CVS was the lone partner with Virginia, and Abingdon remains the only CVS pharmacy location in Southwest Virginia that residents can receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
Information has not yet been released on if any Kroger, Walgreens, or Walmart locations in Southwest Virginia will be administering vaccine doses.
