Police: Jonesborough woman behind the wheel of SUV involved in fatal I-40 crash

A crash on Interstate 40 that involved the death of a pedestrian remains under investigation.

Preliminary information from the Sevierville Police Department says a 48-year-old woman was struck and killed Sunday evening just after 8 pm on I-40 eastbound near the city exit. The name of the victim has not been released.

Police reported that the SUV that hit the victim was driven by Jennifer Stettner, 35, of Jonesborough. She was not injured in the wreck.
