Carter County, Elizabethton officers make 10 arrests during wanted criminal sweep

A roundup of wanted criminals around Carter County took place Tuesday morning with an initial haul of 10 individuals arrested on charges ranging from shoplifting to probation and various drug violations.

A report from Sheriff Dexter Lunceford’s office said the operation began at 4 am and deputies worked in teams to locate the suspects.

Officers with the Elizabethton Police Department assisted Carter County personnel in the criminal sweep. Lunceford said the search for more suspects will continue throughout the day.
