Southwest Virginia Delegate Slams Virginia’s Current Vaccine Rollout Plan
Southwest Virginia House of Delegates member Israel O’Quinn in an opinion editorial piece on the close of the 2021 General Assembly session drawing to a close says Virginia’s current leadership with the Commonwealth’s vaccine rollout has been abysmal. O’Quinn says Virginia has been ranked last or close to last , among all states in vaccine disbursement at times during the process. O’Quinn goes on to say a bill he was Chief Co-Patron for hopefully will help determine who can actually administer the vaccine as well as to allow businesses, schools, fire departments and others to open up their facilities as vaccination sites. O’Quinn says the southwest Virginia delegation in the General Assembly has been trying to get more vaccines to the region through legislative and non legislative means during the session. With the session now complete, its the first time in over 400 years, the house of delegates did not meet in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
