Virginia Lottery reports over $400M in online wins since offering virtual gaming option last July
Since offering online games last year, the Virginia Lottery reports that customers have won more than $400M from plays on their devices.
The online gaming option was offered beginning July 1 and allows Virginians to play popular games like Mega Millions and Powerball in a digital style while there are exclusive instant win online game offerings. Lottery officials say over 163,000 unique players have won prizes for a combined 85 million wins.
Profits from online and retail store ticket sales go towards public education in Virginia, as close to $600M was generated in the 2020 fiscal year.
